Palm Tree Services in Sarasota, FL and Surrounding Area

Palms are iconic in Southwest Florida — and keeping them healthy takes more than sunshine. Blue Frog provides UF-recommended fertilization, deep root injections, and heart drenches to keep your palms thriving year after year.

Comprehensive Palm Care from Certified Experts

At Blue Frog, we love to help with your palms! Our palm services are extensive. We offer a high quality fertilization process designed and recommended by the University of Florida to keep your trees healthy and strong.

We also perform nutrient deficiency correction, deep root injections with beneficial bacteria and microorganisms to aid in recovery, and heart drenches — applying nutrients or fungicides directly into the heart of the palm for preventive care and treatment.

Palm Fertilization

Florida's sandy soils are notoriously nutrient-poor, and palms have specific nutritional needs that standard lawn fertilizers don't address. Our UF IFAS-recommended palm fertilization program delivers the right balance of potassium, magnesium, manganese, and micronutrients that palms need to stay strong and resist disease.

Deep Root Injections

Using Arborjet technology, our certified technicians inject beneficial bacteria, microorganisms, and nutrients directly into the root zone of your palms. This targeted approach bypasses soil competition and delivers nutrition exactly where it's needed — resulting in faster uptake and better health outcomes than surface applications alone.

Heart Drenches

The bud of the palm — known as the heart — is the most critical and vulnerable part of the tree. A heart drench delivers nutrients or fungicides directly to this growing point, offering both preventive protection against diseases like Fusarium wilt and restorative treatment for palms showing signs of stress or decline.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Palm Tree Services

Why are my palm fronds turning yellow?

Yellowing palm fronds are most commonly caused by nutrient deficiencies — particularly potassium, magnesium, or manganese — which are very common in Florida's sandy soils. Other causes include overwatering, root rot, or disease. A Blue Frog technician can diagnose the cause and recommend the right corrective treatment.

What is a palm heart drench?

A heart drench delivers nutrients or fungicides directly into the growing bud — the heart — of the palm tree. It is used both preventively to protect against disease and restoratively for palms showing signs of stress or decline, and is one of the most effective methods for treating serious palm health issues quickly.

What is Arborjet and why does it matter?

Arborjet is an advanced tree health technology that delivers treatments directly into the vascular system of the tree via micro-injection. Blue Frog has Arborjet-trained technicians on staff who use this for deep root injections, delivering nutrients directly to the root zone faster and more efficiently than surface applications.

How often do palm trees need to be fertilized?

The University of Florida recommends fertilizing palms 3–4 times per year using a palm-specific fertilizer with the correct balance of potassium, magnesium, manganese, and micronutrients. Standard lawn fertilizers should never be used on palms.

Can a declining palm be saved?

In many cases, yes — with early intervention. Palms showing signs of nutrient deficiency, fungal disease, or environmental stress can often recover with the right program. Once the heart (bud) of the palm is dead, the tree cannot be saved. Contact Blue Frog at the first signs of decline.

Do you provide palm care throughout Sarasota?

Yes. Blue Frog provides comprehensive palm tree services throughout Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, Nokomis, and Osprey. Our Arborjet-trained technicians are experienced with all palm species common to Southwest Florida.
